Laura Burges

Ryuko Laura Burges, a lay entrusted dharma teacher in the Soto Zen tradition lectures, teaches classes, and leads retreats at San Francisco Zen Center and other practice centers in Northern California. She received monastic training at Tassajara Zen Mountain Center and taught children for thirty-five years while mentoring other teachers. Her current project with Shambhala is a series of wisdom stories from Tibet, India, and Japan. Laura lives in San Francisco.
